Antigua's west coast has a quality that's hard to describe until you've spent a morning in it: salt air, the sound of the water, a pace that drops without you having to try. At Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas located between Ffryes and Darkwood beaches, our wellness program is built around exactly that. Your day can begin as early as 7 AM with hiking in Antigua's hillside terrain, or settle into the morning with yoga and Pilates by the pool at 8 AM.
Your stay here includes a core set of activities at no extra cost: morning yoga and Pilates classes, guided hikes, the fitness center, and the saltwater infinity pool. The Tamarind Spa's full treatment menu, private yoga sessions, and in-Villa or in-Suite appointments are all available separately through the concierge.
Spa Treatments at The Tamarind Spa
At The Tamarind Spa, the treatment menu is shaped around what the Caribbean does to your skin. A few days of sun, salt air, and steady warmth leave their mark, and every treatment here is designed to work from there, drawing on Murad Skincare products, a dermatologically developed range built for active, sun-facing skin. A 17% Antigua and Barbuda Sales Tax (ABST) applies to all services.
Our spa is open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM and Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM. If you're staying in our Studio, Suite, Villa, or Beach House, you can arrange in-Villa or in-Suite treatments through the concierge, bringing the full menu directly to your accommodation.
Facials and Skincare
After a few days in the Caribbean, your skin carries the evidence of it. Our facials at The Tamarind Spa are designed to work from there: 5 treatments, each 60 minutes, each built around a specific concern using Murad formulations developed for sun-exposed, sea-affected skin.
Tamarind Glow Lifting Facial: Microcurrent technology firms and lifts facial contours, working on the loss of elasticity that sun exposure accelerates.
Tamarind Rejuvenation Facial: A drainage massage reduces puffiness and restores visible freshness, with LED Light Therapy available as an optional enhancement.
Tamarind Energy Boost Micro Fusion Facial: Microcurrent and serum infusion work together to rebuild hydration and return the skin to a more energized, plumped state.
Tamarind Ultrasonic Peel for Glowing Skin: Ultrasonic technology clears dead cells and surface impurities, leaving the skin noticeably cleaner and more luminous.
Tamarind Radiance Recovery Facial: Designed for skin after too much sun, this treatment uses cool stone massage and antioxidants to calm redness and restore balance.
LED Light Therapy (15 minutes) and the Escape Head Massage (10 minutes) are both available as add-ons to any facial on the menu.
Massage Therapy at The Tamarind Spa
Our massage menu at The Tamarind Spa is built around where you carry tension and what it takes to release it. Our 7 approaches run from 30 to 90 minutes, covering aromatherapy and hot stone treatment, deep-tissue work, reflexology, and pregnancy massage. If you've arrived tight from a long journey, or you're simply at the point in a holiday where you want a full afternoon dedicated entirely to this, there's a treatment matched to exactly that.
Tamarind Essence Aromatherapy Massage: 60 or 90 minutes using essential oil blends, designed to decompress the nervous system and support sustained, sensory calm
Tamarind Harmony Therapeutic Massage: 60 or 90 minutes of applied pressure targeting muscle stiffness and the tension that builds slowly over time
Deep Sea Muscle Melt: 60 or 90 minutes of deep-tissue work, reaching further into knots and chronic tightness than a lighter treatment can address
Island Warmth Hot Stone Massage: 60 minutes of warm stone placement along major muscle groups, releasing tension through sustained heat and weight
Reflexology Massage: 60 minutes of focused work on the feet, using pressure points that correspond to circulation and energy flow throughout the body
Pregnancy Massage: 60 minutes adapted for expectant mothers, with positioning and pressure calibrated carefully to the specific needs of pregnancy
Tamarind Escape Head, Neck, and Scalp Massage: 30 minutes on the areas where most guests carry the most tension, available as a standalone or as an add-on to a longer session
Body Treatments at The Tamarind Spa
The Sea Radiance Body Scrub (45 minutes) is what your skin needs after a few days of sun and salt. Dead Sea salts work alongside jojoba, avocado, and peach oils to pull away surface fatigue, exfoliate thoroughly, and leave the skin noticeably softer and better conditioned.
The Glowing Skin Boost (15 minutes) extends the body scrub with a targeted conditioning step. Add it on if you want a more thorough finish, or pair it as the closing element of a longer package session.
Signature Packages at The Tamarind Spa
Some spa visits call for more than a single treatment. Our 6 signature packages are built around that idea, combining 2 or more services into one session. They run from 90 minutes to 3 hours and 20 minutes, and each is anchored to a specific wellness goal.
Glow and Go: 2 hours combining skincare and body treatment for a thorough surface refresh within a manageable block of time
Head-to-Toe Reboot: 3 hours and 20 minutes of multi-zone treatment. The most comprehensive package on our menu, covering the most ground in one session.
Island Renewal Ritual: 2 hours and 45 minutes, drawing on our core massage and skincare offerings in a sustained, restorative sequence
Tamarind Serenity Escape: 2 hours and 15 minutes of deep relaxation through combined massage and sensory treatment, for when a single session is not enough
After-Sun Skin Recovery: 90 minutes built specifically for skin that has had too much sun, drawing on our post-exposure protocols to restore and calm
Tropical Touch Trio: 2 hours combining 3 treatments, a strong starting point if you're experiencing our spa for the first time
Hands, Feet, and Waxing Services
The Tropical Paradise Manicure (40 minutes) and the Sun-Kissed Pedicure (50 minutes) each include nail care, cuticle work, and a hand or foot massage, with regular and gel polish options available. After a week of sand and saltwater, the pedicure earns its place on the schedule.
Waxing services cover the lip, chin, underarms, full and half legs, bikini, and Brazilian. Custom requests can be discussed with our spa team when you book your appointment.
Morning Yoga and Pilates: An Antigua Yoga Retreat by the Caribbean Sea
Most mornings at Tamarind Hills, our yoga and Pilates class starts at 8 AM and runs for an hour, complimentary for all Resort guests. The setting does something that no instructor can entirely take credit for: the sessions take place in direct view of the Caribbean Sea, and that view tends to quiet the mind before the practice has properly begun. All experience levels are welcome.
For guests planning an Antigua yoga retreat with a more focused or personal practice, private sessions are available for a fee through the concierge. If you're staying in a Studio, Suite, Villa, or Beach House, you can set your own time and work independently of the group class schedule.
Hiking in Antigua with Professional Guides

The guided hikes at Tamarind Hills depart at 7 AM for good reason: that early in the morning, the Caribbean coast is at its most composed. Our hikes run Monday through Friday, with our guides adjusting the route and pace to your fitness level, from gentler coastal terrain to more demanding climbs into the island's interior.
Hiking in Antigua through our program offers a visit to the parts of the island that don't come with crowds, marked trails, or guesswork. Our guides know the landscape well and bring its natural history into every walk, so what you return with is more than just the physical effort.
Stay Active at Our Fitness Center
Our fitness center is open from 8 AM daily, and if morning workouts are part of your routine at home, there's no reason to set them aside here. The equipment covers both cardio and strength work: 2 treadmills, an elliptical, functional trainers, a recumbent bike, a knee and dip stand, and a solid selection of dumbbells.
The facility runs on a self-managed, drop-in basis throughout the day. All guests staying in Studios, Suites, Villas, and Beach Houses have equal access as part of their stay.
The Saltwater Infinity Pool
Our infinity pool looks out over the Caribbean, with saltwater treated through reverse osmosis, considerably easier on the skin and eyes than chlorine. Laps in the morning, a long float in the afternoon, or simply sitting at the edge with the sea in front of you. The pool is open to all guests throughout the day.
If you're staying in our 2-Bedroom, 3-Bedroom, or 4-Bedroom Villa, your accommodation comes with its own private pool. Guests in Studios and Suites use the shared Resort pool, which carries the same saltwater and the same unbroken sea view.
Your Accommodation at Tamarind Hills
The room you return to at the end of the day shapes what the rest of the stay feels like. Studios are private and well appointed, with ocean or garden views and everything you need for a focused, unhurried stay. Suites expand into 2 or 3-bedroom layouts with full sea views, suited to guests who want room to settle in over a longer trip without giving up anything in terms of setting.
Our Villas take the experience a step further. The 2-Bedroom, 3-Bedroom, and 4-Bedroom Villas each come with a private pool, giving you a space that is entirely your own alongside everything the Resort offers. Beach Houses provide 3-bedroom space close to the shoreline, another option for those traveling as a group. In every accommodation type, the full wellness program and Resort amenities are available to you from day one.
Tamarind Hills Resort and Villas on Antigua's west coast gives you access to a full wellness program without leaving the property. Morning yoga and Pilates, hiking in Antigua with professional guides, the fitness center, and the infinity pool are all included in your stay, with The Tamarind Spa available to book separately through the concierge.
Studios, Suites, Villas, and Beach Houses all connect to the same program, with in-Villa and in-Suite spa services available for guests who prefer their treatments in their own space. Whether your ideal retreat is built around movement, relaxation, or a balance of both, every stay is designed to help you slow down, recharge, and make the most of your time on the island.
